BMW Group Plant Munich.

WELCOME TO BMW GROUP PLANT MUNICH.

BMW Group Plant Munich is located right next to our company headquarters and to the BMW Museum and BMW Welt. It’s our home plant and the place where superior engineering and innovation meet the passion of roughly 6,500 employees from more than 60 nations. BMW Group Plant Munich has been producing cars and motorcycles since 1922.

Set in unusual surroundings, the plant has developed in parallel with its urban residential neighbourhood. This is reflected in its complex structures, sophisticated logistics and innovative manufacturing processes: the various production technologies and supporting departments interact smoothly within a very confined area – a feat of automotive engineering worldwide. Together the Research and Innovation Centre FIZ and BMW Group Plant Munich form an in-house centre of excellence, sharing their process and technological expertise and over 90 years’ experience in automotive production with sites across the global BMW Group production network.

Our team at BMW Group Plant Munich manufactures the BMW 3 Series and 4 Series, mainly for the European and US markets. They are also the only plant to make the BMW i4, BMW 3 Series Touring, BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and BMW M3 – for export worldwide.

Rounding off the product portfolio are press tools and body parts, which Plant Munich supplies to other facilities in the production network.
