BMW Group Plant Dingolfing is the BMW Group’s largest vehicle production site in Europe: Last year, around 245.000 BMW vehicles rolled off the assembly lines. The site manufactures a wide range of cars – currently models of the 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Series, as well as the new all-electric BMW iX. Components for BMW’s electric vehicles and car bodies for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars are also manufactured here. On top of that, Dingolfing is at the center of the BMW Group’s global spare parts logistics network. In total, the location has a workforce of approx. 17,000 people, plus 850 apprentices.

With approximately 282,000 vehicles built in 2022, the Dingolfing plant is one of the BMW Group's largest production sites — and one of the most flexible at the same time. With the BMW 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Series as well as the all-electric BMW iX, a total of six model series and over a dozen different models run from the production lines of the Lower Bavarian plant.

E-mobility.
In 2015, the production of electrification components began at the 02.20 plant in Dingolfing. Since 2020, electric motors, battery modules and high-voltage batteries of the current, fifth generation have been built there — and delivered to BMW Group vehicle plants such as Dingolfing, Munich and Regensburg. The plant is now regarded as a BMW Group competence center for e-drive production and is making a significant contribution to the company's transformation towards e-mobility.
Digitalization.
Digitalization is one of the drivers of change in the automotive industry. The BMW Group Plant in Dingolfing is contributing to the BMW Group's digitalization strategy through numerous measures. The three most prominent fields of action when it comes to digitalization in production are the use of artificial intelligence, data science and virtualization.
