Sustainability.

Sustainability.

We take responsibility.

Social commitment is firmly anchored in the BMW Group's corporate identity. The BMW Group supports social life, among other things, through sponsorship partnerships in the areas of culture, sport, environment and education: for example, the “Blooming District” and the “Technology House.”

The BMW Group assumes social responsibility to make a lasting positive contribution to the development of the region in which the company is active. This ranges from vehicle donations for educational institutions to financial support for projects in the social sector (Helping Together e.V.) to own initiatives — such as promoting young mathematicians and scientists (e.g. Tech4Kids).

The BMW Group works closely with regional education providers such as the IHK and the Employment Agency as well as with universities in Deggendorf, Landshut and TU Munich on the Straubing Campus. This is where the region's future expertise lies. It secures jobs.

As a reliable partner and good neighbour, the BMW Group also talks directly with citizens — for example during factory visits and neighborhood days.

We have high standards for our new location.

Country map

What applies to our vehicles also applies to our locations: We set the bar high when it comes to energy efficiency and responsible use of resources. We will use photovoltaic systems on the roof, obtain green electricity from renewable sources, and a central heat storage system will use the waste heat from production to air condition buildings. Green roofs and facades are also being considered. In addition, no drop of water is required to produce high-voltage batteries. At the new location, water is only needed for catering, sanitary facilities or cleaning work. Rainwater will be collected for further use and infiltration areas will ensure that if there is too much rainwater, the water can run off. With an environmentally friendly lighting concept, the light intensity of outdoor lighting is sensibly minimized. In order to compensate for the development of the area, ecological upgrading measures are being taken near and on the site itself, for example blooming meadows. It is now time to develop a coherent concept with architects, landscape planners and in dialogue with the citizens of the region
