"We are delighted to welcome so many committed and motivated young people. Over the next few years, they will not only complete their apprenticeship with us, but also make an important contribution to the future of our company," said Ilka Horstmeier, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Human Resources and Real Estate, at the welcome of the new apprentices at the Training Center Dingolfing. "Together with you, we are making the future of mobility electric, digital and circular."

Christoph Schröder, Head of the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing, added: "From the very beginning, we offer our apprentices the opportunity to work on forward-looking topics. Whether it's in the production of high-voltage batteries, the development of new drive technologies or the digitalization of our processes - our apprentices are right in the thick of it. We look forward to many bright minds, the one or other unconventional approach, and innovative ideas from the new apprentices."

The former students had the choice of 16 training occupations and ten different dual degree programs. The aspiring professionals come from different districts, such as Dingolfing-Landau, Deggendorf, Straubing-Bogen or Passau. But also, beyond the Bavarian state borders: apprentices from Brandenburg, Saxony or Hesse are also starting their apprenticeship.

From the region for the region

The expansion of apprenticeship positions for Irlbach-Straßkirchen is a strong signal from the BMW Group for the promotion of young talent and securing the future of the company. During their apprenticeship, the apprentices can qualify for the new plant in Lower Bavaria and thus to produce the next generation of high-voltage batteries according to their strengths, competencies and areas of interest. Furthermore, the takeover of apprentices from an insolvent company in Plattling in Lower Bavaria underlines the regional ties and its willingness to assume social responsibility.

Cross-site apprenticeship has long been a lever for the successful securing of young talent at the BMW Group. The skilled workers of tomorrow are already being trained for promising professions in the region and optimally prepared for a successful career. After the apprenticeship, a wide range of career opportunities are open to the apprentices.

"Of course, you don't just learn for school and work, but for life. An apprenticeship at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing is a great springboard to get ahead on all levels," said Stefan Schmid, Works Council Chairman of the Dingolfing plant, in his welcome speech. "This not only strengthens the Dingolfing plant, but the entire region. Through cross-site apprenticeship, the skilled workers of tomorrow are directly qualified on site for the future."
