There are two paintshop at the Berlin plant in which almost all of the fairing parts are automatically painted via robots. About 10.000 parts in 160 different shapes and 25 different colors are painted every day in high quality. The production system is designed in a way that the robots can paint components of different sizes and geometry in a various order. Nevertheless, the skill of experienced painters is also needed. A steady hand is important, when it comes to the applying of the traditional pinstripes and various tape applications on fuel tank and other fairing parts.
In addition to the two paint shops, there is also a powder coating shop in which the motorcycle frames and aluminum tanks are colored with a solvent-free powder paint.
