Carbon is unlike any conventional material. The composite offers a unique combination of numerous positive qualities: It is light, extremely resilient and corrosion-resistant.
Plant Landshut has been the BMW Group’s competence centre for carbon production since the Landshut Innovation and Technology Centre (LITZ) opened in 1999. After more than 20 years of intensive material and process development – including production of carbon roofs for BMW M models, our specialists have acquired unique expertise in large-scale carbon-specific manufacturing processes. This is where body components for the BMW 7 Series and BMW i are manufactured, for instance.
