Greenville, S.C. Soaring to a total $12.7 million dollars raised since the tournament began in 2001, today 14 Upstate charities benefiting from the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation received $631,495 to further support their respective philanthropic missions.
“The services and care provided by the wide range of charities which were selected for this year’s tournament will touch a diverse spectrum of lives,” said Bob Nitto, President, BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. “While tournament week brings great sport, fun and visibility to the Upstate, nothing is more fulfilling than the afternoon when we are able to present the funds raised during the event to these deserving organizations.”
Charities accepting checks at the presentation held at Hall’s Chophouse were: The Blue Ridge Council Boy Scouts of America, Center for Developmental Services, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County, Harvest Hope Food Bank, Mobile Meals of Spartanburg, National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), Project HOPE Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas, Shriners Hospital for Children-Greenville, SYNNEX Share the Magic, The Blade Jr. Golf Classic, The Furman Advantage and Upstate Warrior Solution.
To assist the non-profits, the tournament provides risk-free opportunities to earn funds through three programs: ticket sales, volunteer recruitment and one-day pro-am team sales.
“The Center for Developmental Services was thrilled to be a part of this year’s tournament,” said Dana McConnell, Executive Director, Center for Developmental Services. “We are grateful to the community who came out to support the event through sponsorships, entry fees, and volunteering their time. These funds will benefit over 6,800 children with developmental delays, disabilities and special needs. ”
The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation will return to Greenville May 14-20, 2018, bringing professionals, amateurs and stars of the field, stage and screen together for competitive play at Thornblade Club, The Preserve at Verdae and Furman University Golf Club.
